What goes in a soil and dirt skip bin?
Soil and dirt skip bins take clean fill — excavated soil, dirt, sand and clay with no mixed rubbish. Booking the correct waste type means the bin, weight allowance and pricing are right for your load. Displayed prices include delivery, pickup, GST and accepted waste removal within the bin's conditions.
Accepted materials
- Clean excavated soil and dirt
- Sand and clay
- Fill from landscaping and excavation
Not accepted — prohibited items
Never accepted (no exceptions). These hazardous items are prohibited in every skip bin:
- Asbestos, fibro and fibreglass
- Chemicals, liquids, oils and fuels
- Gas bottles and aerosols
- Paints and solvents
- Batteries
- Clinical or medical waste
Do not place these in the bin. If prohibited items are found after collection, contamination and disposal fees will be charged and the load may be rejected.
Not suitable for this waste type. Soil mixed with rubbish, turf, roots, concrete or building waste is not clean fill and is priced differently — book a heavy or mixed-waste bin. Contaminated soil is never accepted.
Recommended sizes
Because soil is dense, these bins are weight-limited to smaller 2m³–4m³ sizes even though they look part-full. See the skip sizes guide to match a size to your job.
