Delivery & access
Skip bin delivery and access
Written by the Local Skip Bin Hire team · Updated 12 July 2026
How delivery works
After you book, a vetted local partner delivers the bin on your chosen date and places it where you've asked, provided there is safe access. Delivery is included in the price you see. Deliveries are completed Monday to Saturday; the date picker shows the earliest available dates for your postcode when you search.
Access requirements
Space to place the bin
A clear, reasonably level area is needed — a driveway, hardstand or yard. Skip trucks need room to reverse in and tilt the bin off safely.
Clearance
Allow roughly 3 metres width and 4 metres height of clear access. Overhanging branches, low wires, tight gates or parked cars can prevent placement.
Surface protection
Bins can be placed on most firm surfaces. If you're concerned about marking a driveway, timber or boards can be laid down first — just have them ready.
Not sure about access?
Tell us in the delivery instructions when you book. If access looks difficult, the local partner can call to confirm before the run.
Driveway vs public-land placement
A bin on your own driveway or property usually needs no permit. If it must go on the road, footpath or nature strip, that's public-land placement — select it when booking and Local Skip Bin Hire arranges the council permit for you, with the council fee added to your booking.

Frequently asked questions
Is delivery included in the price?
Yes. Delivery to the address you enter at booking is included in the displayed price, along with pickup, GST and accepted waste removal within the selected bin's conditions.
What days do you deliver?
Deliveries are completed Monday to Saturday. When you enter your postcode, the date picker shows the earliest available dates for your area.
How much access does a skip truck need?
As a guide, allow roughly 3 metres of width and 4 metres of height of clear, level access so the truck can place the bin safely. Watch for overhanging branches, low wires, tight gates and parked cars.
Where will the bin be placed?
On your driveway, hardstand or yard where there is safe access. If you need it on the road or footpath, select public placement when booking so we can arrange the council permit.
What if the truck can't access my property?
Let us know about tight or unusual access in the delivery instructions when you book. The local partner can call to confirm, and where placement isn't possible we'll work with you on an alternative.
